Create a Template β
For Editors and Admins.
A template is a named set of inspection cards. Each card uses the same card layout and contains field configurations that determine what is printed (fixed values), what inspectors fill in live, and what is collected once at the start of a session.
Before you start β
You need at least one layout in your organisation before you can create a template. If none exist, build a layout first.
Create a new template β
- Go to the Inspection Card Templates tab.
- Tap + New (top-right of the header).
- The Choose Layout screen opens. Select the layout that defines the rows and fields for this template's cards. You can change the layout later.
- The New Template screen opens.
Fill in the template details β

Template name β
Enter a descriptive name β for example, Vestas V164 Internal Blade Inspection. The name appears on the home screen and is referenced in the audit log.
Tags β
Tags let you filter templates on the home screen. Type a tag name and press Enter or , to add it. Press Backspace to remove the last tag. Tags are stored lowercase.
Examples: offshore, v164, internal, nte
Layout β
Shows the currently selected layout and version. Tap Change to open the Change Layout sheet and switch to a different layout or a different version of the same layout.
When you change layout version:
- Fields that exist in both versions keep their configuration.
- New fields appear with empty defaults.
- Removed fields are dropped.
Switching to a different layout resets all card field configurations for the new layout's fields. The number of cards is preserved.
Add cards β
Each card is one page of the inspection.
- Tap + Add card below the Cards section.
- The Card Editor opens immediately for the new card.
- Configure the card's fields β see Configure cards and field modes.
- When done, the card appears in the list as "Card N".
Reorder cards by dragging the β‘ handle on the left of each card row.
Duplicate a card by tapping the duplicate icon (β§ ). The copy is inserted immediately below the original.
Delete a card by tapping the bin icon. You'll be asked to confirm.

Tip: Set fields to From setup for values that are constant across a whole session (turbine ID, inspector name, date) β they're entered once and appear on every card.
Save the template β
Tap Save (top-right). The template is saved as a draft and appears under Drafts on the home screen.
Publish the template β
Drafts are not visible to Technicians. Once the template is ready, open its menu (β―) and tap Publish. The template moves to the main Templates section and becomes runnable.
To unpublish (revert to draft), open the menu and tap Unpublish.
Archive a template β
Open the menu (β―) and tap Archive. Archived templates are hidden from Technicians and cannot be run. Tap Restore to move an archived template back to draft.
Duplicate a template β
Open the menu (β―) and tap Duplicate. A copy is created as a draft with "(Copy)" appended to the name.
View audit history β
Open the menu (β―) and tap History to see a log of create, update, publish, unpublish, archive, and restore actions for the template.
