Run an Inspection

For Technicians, Editors, and Admins.

What you need

A published template must exist in your organisation (or be shared with it) before you can run an inspection. If no templates appear, ask an Admin or Editor to publish one.

Steps

1. Find the template

Open the Inspection Card Templates tab (the grid icon, bottom-left).

Templates are grouped into sections:

  • Templates — your organisation's published templates
  • Public Library — platform-wide templates available to all organisations
  • Shared with your organisation — templates shared by another org
  • Drafts — unpublished templates (visible to Editors and Admins only)
  • Archived — retired templates (visible to Editors and Admins only)

Use the search icon (top-right of the header) to filter by name. If your templates have tags, tag chips appear below the search bar to filter further.

2. Tap Run

Tap the Run button on the template card. This takes you to the Setup screen.

If the Run button is greyed out, the template is archived and cannot be run.

3. Fill in Setup fields

The Setup screen appears before the inspection begins. It shows any fields in the template that are set to From setup — values you enter once and that will appear on every card in this session (for example, Turbine ID or Inspector Name).

  • Fill in each field and tap Start inspection → to begin.
  • If no fields are set to "From setup", the screen will say so — just tap Start inspection →.
  • Reset (top-right) clears all fields back to their defaults and removes the prefilled values stored on this device.

Remember last used values (Settings) prefills Setup fields with the values from your last session on this device, except for date and time fields.

4. Navigate the cards in the Viewer

The Viewer shows one card at a time. See Navigate cards in the viewer for the full guide.

5. Go back or edit Setup details

  • Tap × (top-left of the nav bar) to close the inspection and return to the templates list. Live values entered on cards are not saved — VBIC cards are display-only.
  • Tap edit details (bottom-centre) to return to the Setup screen and change the session values. Your current card position is preserved.
